Longtime Executive Director Dave Kelly will retire in 2026. On October 13, 2025, Ken Loyd will assume the role of Executive Director, with Dave remaining through the end of the 2025-2026 RV Show season to ensure a smooth transition.
A legacy of service
Since December 1987, Dave Kelly has been a steadfast leader for the Florida RV Trade Association, stepping into the executive director role in 2020. Over nearly four decades, Dave has guided FRVTA through growth in shows and membership, strengthened relationships with manufacturers and dealers, and helped elevate Florida as one of the most dynamic RV markets in the country. As he put it at this year’s annual convention, “It’s time for someone else to take the reins.” Dave will officially retire in 2026, and in classic Dave fashion, he will stay through the end of show season to support the handoff.
Leadership transition on October 13, 2025
Effective October 13, 2025, FRVTA will welcome Executive Director-designate Ken Loyd into the top role. Dave and Ken will work side-by-side during the coming months, ensuring continuity for members, exhibitors, sponsors, and partners across all FRVTA programs and shows.
Introducing Ken Loyd
Ken brings a deep, hands-on understanding of Florida’s RV industry and FRVTA’s mission. He joined FRVTA at the regional level in 2014 and quickly moved into leadership, serving as vice president and then president of Region 6 for four years. At the state level, Ken served as treasurer, president, and chairman. His operational background includes running Flamingo Lake RV Resort near Jacksonville until 2020 and overseeing the development of Keystone Heights RV Resort. He has also served on the board of the Florida/Alabama Park and Campground Association since 2016. Ken is eager to “learn the ropes” from Dave and carry FRVTA forward with a member-first focus.
What members can expect
