The FRVTA Board of Directors met on December 3rd at the Sheraton Sand Key.  The following items were discussed or actions taken:

  • The Show Committee will look into the rules regarding the space selection process for the Florida RV SuperShow. The idea is that every manufacturer, no matter how big or small, get a chance to exhibit at the show. There will be more discussion at the next board meeting.
  • The PR Committee reported that ad sales for both the RVers Guide and SuperShow magazines are up this year. Distribution thru the interstate rest areas, the Florida Turnpike and Pilot Flying J stores remains strong. So much so that extra magazines had to be printed this year to keep the racks full. Currently trying to them distributed through the new Buc-ee’s that are moving into Florida. They also reported good click thru rates on the ads on the FRVTA.org website. Ad space available on the interactive SuperShow map is selling fairly well as well.
  • The Education Committee will be working to contact members about how the Distance Learning Network can help with training. Veronica recently attended the RVDA convention and presented the new RVDLN.org website. RVDA will continue to encourage their members to sign up. Veronica will be getting out to member dealers and finding out what dealers need/want from the FRVTA Training Program.
  • The Finance Committee reported the association to be in very good financial condition with the SuperShow still being the number one revenue producer.
  • The Political Committee continues to work closely with Marc Dunbar to make sure there is no legislation on the horizon that could negatively affect the RV Industry. They continue to encourage donations to the FRVPC Fund to make sure we can support those candidates that look favorably at the RV Industry. They will be reaching out to our members to find out if there are any issues that Marc can help with legislatively in Tallahassee. The Committee needs this feedback in order to help our members with legal issues they might be experiencing.
  • The Membership Committee recently mailed out the brochure and poster that explains all the benefits of FRVTA membership, anyone with any ideas on discount programs the association can offer should contact the State Office.
  • Ejola Cook continues to update the Dealer Knowledgebase Website. This is a great tool for FRVTA members to find out what new requirements have come out of Tallahassee and to ask Ejola what issues she can help researching.
