First, I want to thank everyone who joined us for the FRVTA State Convention in September. It was a great event and always one of my favorite opportunities to spend time with our members from across the state and the RV industry. I hope everyone who attended came away with some new ideas, new connections, and had a little fun along the way.
I also want to thank the entire FRVTA team for all the work that went into making the convention happen. There is a lot of planning behind the scenes, and I appreciate everyone who put in the time and effort to make it such a successful few days.
The FRVTA staff has also been on the road, attending the Hershey RV Show and Open House in Elkhart. It’s important for our team to be out there meeting with manufacturers, seeing what’s new, and keeping FRVTA connected with what’s happening throughout the industry.
Now we’re moving right into our fall RV show season. Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel the Jacksonville Fall RV Show. Recent weather left the grounds too muddy to safely move the RVs into the facility and put on the kind of show our exhibitors and attendees expect. It’s always disappointing to cancel an event after so much preparation, but sometimes Mother Nature has other plans.
We still have more fall shows ahead, and I hope you’ll come out and support our regional events. These shows are an important part of what we do and a great opportunity to introduce more people to the RV lifestyle while helping our members connect with consumers.
We’re also continuing to attend job fairs around the state to introduce more people to the career opportunities available in the RV industry. Finding good people continues to be a challenge for many of our members, so we want to do what we can to get our industry in front of people who may not have considered it as a career. If you know of a job fair or career event in your area that you think FRVTA should attend, please let the State Office know.
And, of course, save the dates for the 2027 Florida RV SuperShow, January 13–17, with Industry Day on January 12. After a successful Draw and months of work already happening behind the scenes, the show is shaping up to be better than ever. Our staff is working hard to put everything together, and I’m excited about what we have planned for January.
Finally, I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween. Enjoy the fall, and I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming shows and events.
Warm regards,
Sean Thompson
President, FRVTA Board of Directors
