FAST FACTS  

  • Dealers are required to process titles and registrations on behalf of their customers. This must be done within 30 days of sale or delivery of the unit.
  • EXCEPTION: If the customer will be titling the RV in another state or country, the dealer is not required by law to process the title and registration on behalf of the customer. (s. 319.23(6)(a), F.S.)

FORMS REQUIRED:  NEW RV

  • First and second stage (if applicable) Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin
  • HSMV 82040 (Title Application)
  • HSMV 82994 (Dealer Reassignment)
  • Power of Attorney (if applicable)
  • License Plate Number (copy of registration) for license plate transfers
  • Proof of insurance for motorized RVs (insurance card, affidavit, declaration page of policy, binder)
  • Proof of identity: The following is considered acceptable proof of identification:
    1. A valid driver license or identification card issued by Florida or another state. (This includes any U.S. territory such as American Samoa, Guam, Marianas, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands.)
    2. A valid passport, which does not have to be issued by the United States. (Example: Great Britain passport).
    3. A valid Canadian driver license, identification card, or passport.

A copy of the proof of identification is required to be submitted with the paperwork to the tag office unless the proof submitted is a Florida driver license or identification card.
